Summary

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member, provides direct patient care and related support by performing selected nursing procedures and routine duties to assist medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and care of patients.

- High School Diploma or equivalent

- Successful completion of first year of a Nursing program and validation of a clinical rotation consistent with level of education or Certified nursing assistant certification.

- Basic Life Support training within six months of hire.

Job Description:

• Performs direct patient care procedures and related tasks; assists in obtaining patient histories, takes vital signs and I &O and documents, prepares chart packs, and assists with medical procedures as delegated by nursing staff.
• Prepare patients, equipment, and supplies for specific procedures and provide manual assistance as needed.
• Answers signal lights, bells, or intercom system immediately to determine patients’ needs and assures needs are address in a timely manner. Accesses additional assistance as indicated to meet patient needs.
• Performs and documents appropriate procedures and data according to hospital policy and procedure.
• Performs hygienic care including bathing, shaving, oral, and hair
• Answers signal lights, bells, or intercom system immediately to determine patients’ needs. Assures needs are met when beyond scope.

Requirements:

• High School/GED
• SRNA or successful completions of first year of Nursing program with validation of clinical rotation.
• Must obtain BLS within 6 months
